CORSET MAKING FOR THE THEATRE: AN INTRODUCTION

Course Details

This week long course gives students the opportunity to make a corset chosen from four different periods (Tudor, 18th century, 1860s-70s, Edwardian) using given pattern blocks. The student will be instructed in how to make the corset using traditional methods with steel boning and a choice of Coutil fabric.

The wardrobe department is equipped with both domestic and industrial sewing machines. Small classes ensure plenty of one-to-one teaching. The course is aimed at those who want to expand their knowledge and skills within this area.

What to bring

Students are encouraged to bring their own sewing kit.
